MMSA Dequindre Alumni Join Celebration Honoring the 30th Year of MAPSA

Last night, five alumni from Michigan Math & Science Academy Dequindre made their way to the Michigan Charter School Symposium to celebrate MAPSA’s 30-year anniversary.

The conference has been an integral event for Michigan charter school advocates who want to see the educational model continue to grow across the state. Its purpose is to give educators the chance to network with one another along with learning more about what other institutions are doing to enhance their education experience for their students.

In attendance representing MMSA was Class of 2018 alum Justin Wilton (who is also a MMSA board member), Class of 2016 alumni Alyssa Bentham and Jonelle Wiley (both of whom are teachers at MMSA Lorraine), Class of 2024 alumna Ashley Patton and Class of 2020 alum William Young. Concept Schools, an award-winning charter management organization that manages MMSA Dequindre, also had representatives at the event.

The conference, which was sold out, was full of energy and excitement throughout the night. From guest speakers delivering passionate lectures to engaging breakout sessions that incorporated those in attendance, the excitement around the symposium was testament to the strong alliance that Michigan charter schools have across the state.
